Native To: Headwaters of Río Mezquital, Pacific Slope of Mexico Adult Size: 1 inch Optimum Temperature: 71 – 75*F Optimum pH: 7 - 8 Optimum dGH: 14
Feeding: Flake, DIY, and Live foods are all readily accepted. Vegetation should be a large part of their diet, however live foods are preferred. Usual Swimming Level(s): Mid levels of the aquarium. Temperament: Very Aggressive. Basic Care: Should be kept in a large species only setup, well planted with plenty of rocks and hiding places. Reproduction: Every 55 to 60 days 10 to 20 fry are born.
Remarks: Should not be kept with C. Audax, as hybridizing will occur.
